Taxi Service in Agra

The Taj is closed on Fridays, which catches out more visitors than anything else about Agra. Beyond that, the practical detail is the pollution-control zone around the monument: cars stop short of the gates, and the last stretch is on foot or by battery vehicle. Plan for that rather than being surprised by it.

The usual circuit

• Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Mehtab Bagh — a full day, comfortably.
• Fatehpur Sikri — roughly 40 km, typically added on the way to Jaipur.
• Itmad-ud-Daulah — the "Baby Taj", often skipped and worth not skipping.

Onward routes

• Agra to Delhi — roughly 230 km, about 3 to 4 hours.
• Agra to Jaipur — roughly 240 km, usually via Fatehpur Sikri and Bharatpur.
• Agra to Mathura and Vrindavan — roughly 60 km.
• Agra to Gwalior — roughly 120 km.
